Interested in breeding your mare to our triple
registered stallion, VBF's I Be Smokin'?
We
offer our stallion at stud by private treaty. Please
contact us at 406-458-8775 or darcie@rockiesintherockies.com
to discuss breeding your mare. Take advantage of being
among the first to breed with this incredibly beautiful,
gaited, and well-mannered Rocky Mountain, Kentucky Mountain,
and American Gaited Horse.
He is so gentle, he was our first pick for horseback
rides for the kids at a birthday party. His braids alone
are three feet long. He is very natural gaited as well,
and is a pleasure to ride. Even young riders are motivated
to learn with such a well-bred stallion.
"Smokey
is one of the most quiet, pleasant well-mannered
stallions I have been in the company of. He is the
most consistent, natually smooth gaited horses I
have had the opportunity to ride. He easily navigates
turns and circles while maitaining his smooth gaits
on a very casul loose rein and direction changes
with fingertip control. He has a pleasant manner
and is a pleasure to be around on the ground and
under saddle even while being in the company of
other mares and geldings."
Besides his gentle temperament and intelligence, Smokey has a fine
list of accomplishments, even at such a young age. Before
we brought him to Montana this year, we showed him in
one small United Mountain Horse show, and the largest
of the UMH shows - their world show. Here are the highlights
of his winnings during the shows:
Madison County Horse Show, September 9, 2006:
Flag bearer for the show

United Mountain Horse World Show, 2006:

We have been riding Smokey on the trails
here in Montana, and he is doing great! One of the great
things about Rocky Mountain and Kentucky Mountain horses
is their versatility. Just because Smokey did well in
the show ring doesn't mean he'll be spooky or difficult
to ride on the trails. Our experiences with him so far
indicate that he notices new things, and is always willing
and able to face new challenges. If you point his nose
in a particular direction, he'll take you there! We'll
keep you posted on new adventures and try to take pictures
of some of the interesting places we visit with our
trusty stallion, 'Smokey'.
The above video was produced on May 6,
2007. Notice that Shawn is riding bareback, and even
when he starts to slip while picking up the hat, Smokey
just stood there! In the background there was farming,
a dog or two, and mares just behind the camera. If you
are looking for an International Grand Champion, a gentle
disposition, a beautiful conformation and thick mane
and tail, you definitely want to breed to this stallion.
