Shadow is a very tall, soft, gentle horse with
an extremely smooth gait. He is a fantastic show
prospect or all around horse. He is 'all about'
the relationship, and maintains good boundaries
(doesn't bump into you when walking, for example),
but needs more time out on the trails since he is
so young. I rode him in the main arena at the Kentucky
Horse Park when I bought him, and although he'd
never been in a big building like that, he did really
well. He has turned out to be a very fine companion.
He is also a great lead horse as he is very dominant
in the herd. He is very submissive and docile with
people. He is very in-tune with people's body language.
Please see our video of Shadow, taken on Mother's
Day, May 15, 2007!
Spanky was originally going to be a stallion because
he has such a wonderful gait, temperament and is
fun to look at! But as they say, an excellent stallion
makes an even better gelding. Spanky has been taken
on trail rides since he was old enough to follow
his mother. He has extensive trail experience, has
taken feed near animal hides, is used to weapons
firing, and has even carried a pack on a pack saddle
into the wilderness. He bathes, loads, and will
unload himself if you ask... He has had adults and
children of different experience levels ride him,
and he's had nothing but compliments.
Spanky was born here at our facility, and is available
to a qualified home, only. He was imprint trained, and
has had 30 days of professional training as well. Recently
a friend (and beginning rider) rode him into the wilderness
bareback with only the halter and leadrope.
